17-18 March 2017: The National Evaluation Workshop for ENVIS Centres is scheduled to be held on 17-18 March 2017 at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The ENVIS Centre hosted at Gujarat Ecology Commission (GEC), Gandhinagar is organising the Workshop on behalf of the MoEF&CC for all the ENVIS Centres.

Visit to Gujarat Medicinal Plant Board and Medicinal Plant Garden

16 March 2017: Visit to Gujarat Medicinal Plant Board and Medicinal Plant Garden was undertaken by Ms. Suma T. S., ENVIS Coordinator and Ms. Soumyashree N., Research Fellow, ENVIS Centre on Medicinal Plants, FRLHT-TDU, Bengaluru on 16th March 2017 to learn about activities on Medicinal Plants conservation. Shri I. M. Quraishi, Deputy Secretary AYUSH, GoI and his team were met and visited Medicinal Plants Garden at Gandhinagar established in 1978 by Gujarat State Forest Department now managed by GMPB (1982). During this interaction activities of FRLHT-TDU, was briefed along with an invitation for their team to visit FRLHT-TDU.

    19 February 2017: Anniversary of “His Highness Sri Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Medical Heritage Library” was celebrated as “Indian Medical Heritage” day on 19 February 2017 at FRLHT-TDU campus, with launching of “Digital Resource Center of Ancient Medical Books and Manuscripts” by Her Highness Pramoda Devi Wadiyar and followed a series of interesting lectures on the theme “Wellness (Swasthya): Integrative Approach to Health” and regenerative biology.
