Kew’s Medicinal Plant Names Services (MPNS) is helping the world’s health regulators to ensure that herbal products are manufactured and traded safely by supporting an important new medicinal drug standard, entitled ‘Identification of Medicinal Products’ (IDMP) ratified by the International Organization for Standards (ISO). This new standard has been adopted by the US, European, and Japanese Health Regulators and is promoted by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
