Other comments

Fruit pulp used as a condiment (substitute for Tamarind in Kerala). Fruit rind is marketed in large quantity (Rs. 60-70/-per kg). Since fruits are harvested, regeneration has to be studied. Infraspecific classification is not taken into consideration. Citrin is extracted from the fruits and exported to U.S., which is used as an antiobesity agent. The seed oil is used as medicine (Flora of India Vol. 3 pp111, 1993). Forest Dept. of Karnataka undertaking research on early fruit setting in order to cope up with the heavy demand. As it is exhibiting male and bisexual flowers one need to assess which sex is more common.
