·       Trade in Amritsar market has increased from 30 Qtls in 1996 to 60 Qtls in 2003 and rate per Kg has increased from Rs. 30 to Rs. 90 during the same period. Supply is also much shorter than demand

·       Much is removed for fuel wood.
