Distribution
This species is globally distributed from Africa to Asia. Within India, it commonly occurs throughout North India, ascending to an altitude of 1500 m. in the Himalayas, and throughout South India along water streams and along walls of water bodies. It is sometimes cultivated in gardens for its flowers.
